Final LA Marathon Update
5:00 PM -- Weather: 66 Degrees (Century City); Humidity: 61%; Wind: 9 MPH 
 
The LA Marathon Joint Information Center (JIC) has ceased operations for the 2024 race. The event, which included the participation of over 21,000 runners, concluded with no major incidents or disruptions
Patient counts are listed below. Counts only include participants who have received complete medical assessments by first responders.

Total Patients: 13  /  Total Transported: 9

Immediate: 0 (life-threatening, immediate care required)
Delayed: 8 (non-life-threatening, care can be delayed)
Minor: 5 (minor injury/illness, "walking wounded")

Road Closures: Final remaining road closures in the Century City area are being reopened at this time pending final clearance by StreetsLA and LADOT crews. Map of the race route at: LADOT.LACity.gov/LAMarathon
 
Transit Closures: Area residents who use public transit may experience some delays. For more information call Metro at (323) GO METRO (466-3876) or visit the agency’s trip planner web site at: www.metro.net 
There will be freeway ramp closures. Please modify your schedule and use alternate routes when available. For more information please visit: http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/
Motorists inquiring regarding towed vehicles are advised to check the Official Police Garage website at www.opglaviic.com to locate and recover vehicles.

  • Drones are NOT PERMITTED over the route.  For the safety of all participants, we ask you to refrain from flying during the event.
  • As a reminder, please DO NOT leave any unattended items on the course route. "If you see something, say something."

2024 LA Marathon Start
6:20 a.m. - The Los Angeles Marathon is nearly underway. A Joint Information Center (JIC) has been established to oversee Emergency Public Information (EPI) for all Command Posts along the marathon route. In an effort to effectively manage accurate and timely EPI for the race, the JIC will provide timely media advisories, including regular status updates every two hours (approximately).  
 
The @UnifiedLA social media accounts along with UnifiedLA@LACity.org email will be the official source of EPI for the Los Angeles Marathon. We encourage you to follow the @UnifiedLA links shown below, for the most current information and to share your thoughts.
These @UnifiedLA accounts will share photos/videos and discuss information such as:
  • Race day weather forecasts;
  • Race progress including percentage of participants finished;
  • Measures being taken by emergency responders and marathon staff to reduce risks;
  • Street closures and re-openings;
  • Transit closures;
  • Safety concerns that may arise during race day
